Until the 2027 route is published, pick a central area on a good Metro line, and book a room you can cancel. That way you can switch if the start moves.
Where the race starts and finishes
The 2027 race is the 50th edition, on a new course that hadn't been published when we wrote this. In past years the race started on the Champs-Élysées and finished on Avenue Foch, both near the Arc de Triomphe. We'll update this page when the new route is out.
Book a room you can cancel. Race-weekend hotels fill up and get pricier, often before entries or ballot results are confirmed. A free-cancellation room holds today's price. If your plans change, cancel it. Every hotel link on this page shows free-cancellation rooms only.
The best areas to stay
1. Le Marais and BastilleCentral and lively, with lots of places to eat. Metro line 1 runs straight across the city to the Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe.
Race morning: Metro line 1 to wherever the 2027 start is, once it's published.
2. Around the Arc de Triomphe (8th, 16th and 17th)Walking distance to where the race has started and finished in past years. Check the 2027 route before you book, as this may change.
Race morning: Walk, if the start stays near the Champs-Élysées.
The Metro runs on race morning, but trains near the start get crowded. Allow extra time, and check the organiser's transport advice in race week. Most big races also ask you to collect your bib in person before race day, so arrive at least the day before.
We may earn a small commission if you book through these links, at no extra cost to you. Start and finish areas are based on the organiser's information and recent editions: always check the official race site before you book.
