WhichMarathon guide · Updated 18 Oct 2026
Rotterdam is a small, easy city for a marathon. Most hotels are within walking distance of the start, and the trains from Amsterdam Schiphol airport are fast.
Where the race starts and finishes
The race starts at the foot of the Erasmus Bridge and finishes on the Coolsingel, the main street in the city centre.
Book a room you can cancel. Race-weekend hotels fill up and get pricier, often before entries or ballot results are confirmed. A free-cancellation room holds today's price. If your plans change, cancel it. Every hotel link on this page shows free-cancellation rooms only.
The best areas to stay
1. City centre (Coolsingel and Lijnbaan)Walk to the start and back from the finish. Shops, restaurants and the Markthal close by.
4. Delft or The HagueIf Rotterdam fills up, both are a short train ride away and have plenty of hotels. Check the first trains on race morning before you book.
Race morning: Train to Rotterdam Centraal, then walk or Metro.
Trams and buses around the course change on race day. Walking is usually quickest from the centre. Most big races also ask you to collect your bib in person before race day, so arrive at least the day before.
