When is the London Marathon 2027?

The London Marathon is on Sun 25 April 2027.

How do I get a place in the London Marathon?

Ballot (free to enter), plus charity and Good For Age places. Ballot closed 1 May 2026. Charity place only. The ballot for this date has closed. You can still get in with a charity or tour-operator place, or enter next year's ballot.

When can I enter the London Marathon 2028?

The 2028 race is expected around Sun 30 Apr 2028. Ballot opens the day after the 2027 race (late Apr 2027), for about a week.

What is the London Marathon course like?

Flat and fast, Greenwich to The Mall past Tower Bridge. It's one of the flat, fast courses we recommend for a PB.

What's the weather like on race day?

Usually around 8–14°C at race time in April.

How do I get to the London Marathon?

Fly into London (LHR/LGW/STN/LTN/LCY). You can also get there by train. Arrive at least the day before: most big races ask you to collect your bib in person.

Is the London Marathon good for a first marathon?

Yes. It's a friendly course with plenty of support, so it suits a first-timer.
